YOUTH URBAN FISHING

For Girls and Boys ages 6 through 13. Each session will run for 6 weeks total. Held once a week from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, with ½ hour of instruction plus 1 ½ hours of fishing time (adaptive session is only 1 hour). Held at Bartholomew Park, 1090 South 1900 East. Cost is $25 per child and includes a T-shirt. Fishing tackle provided. Must supply own fishing pole. Space is limited to 25 participants for each session.

SPRING SESSION 1 – Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks from March 14^th through April 25^th for 2 hours from 5:30-7:30 pm. Registration is open Feb 1^st through March 10^th or until filled. Session 1 is now full.

SPRING SESSION 2 – Wednesday evenings for 6 weeks from April 12^th through May 17^th for 2 hours from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Registration is open March 1^st through April 7^th or until filled. Session 2 is now full.

ADAPTIVE SESSION for special needs people ages 6-21 – Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks from April 11^th through May 16^th. This session runs only 1 hour from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Registration is open March 1^st through April 7^th or until filled.

FALL SESSION 4 – Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks from September 5^th through October 10^th for 2 hours from 5:30-7:30 pm. Registration is open August 1^st through September 1^st.

*VOLUNTEER FISHING INSTRUCTORS NEEDED* Volunteers qualify for Dedicated Hunter hours with the Division of Wildlife Resources. Peer Tutor credit hours are also available for HS students assisting in the Adaptive Session. Sponsored in part by the DWR.

*Registration is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week through the Rec1 online system. Users must create a family account and log in to register. If you have difficulties with Rec1 online registration, please call the Rec office during regular business hours at 801-489-2730. If you forget your password, please call and it can be re-set. Please do not create multiple accounts to register your participant. Most registration problems can be solved quickly over the telephone. The Recreation staff can help by phone so coming to the office isn’t necessary (unless you are paying cash or check). Click here for Rec1 Online Registration.

Cash and check payments for registration are accepted in-office at Springville Recreation, 443 South 200 East, during regular business hours.
