Springville City’s Youth Court received a grant for $2, 500 at SelectHealth’s Select 25 awards program. The grant will be used to provide training for approximately 20 new volunteer student court members.

The Springville Arts Commission presents a free concert at the Springville Museum of Art one Sunday a month from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. The free concert on Sunday, October 19, 2014 will feature Vanessa Vega. She is from Pasco, Washington, but is currently studying vocal performance and theatre at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. Her long term goal is to become an opera singer. She has competed in Washington State and national vocal competitions and earned third place at the Music Teachers’ National Association competition in California, March 2013. She has also been the recipient of Spokane Musicfest Northwest’s Sr. Marietta Coyle scholarship and their “Adjudicator’s Choice” award for 2013. In addition, Vanessa received Westminster Merit, Exemplary Achievement, and Music Scholarships.

Due to construction on 900 South, the water has to be shut off along the way. Springville Community Pool will be closed at 10 am Wednesday morning (tomorrow) after morning swim. The pool will re-open on Thursday for swim teams, swim lessons, and regular hours of open public swimming. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Businesses that are not located directly in that area of Main Street can contact the Chamber in advance to be assigned a spot and participate. 801-491-7830. Dress up and bring the kids to Trick-or-Treat along both sides of Main Street between Center Street and 400 South from 3 – 5 pm on Halloween afternoon.
