Pressurized Irrigation
(Secondary Water)

Pressurized Irrigation (secondary water) is a system that takes reservoir water and distributes it through pressure pipes to residential yards. The City’s pressurized irrigation system typically begins sometime in April and extends into October of each calendar year.

Pressurized irrigation will extend the life of the City’s existing culinary water system, reduce the cost of treating outdoor water and will help to conserve water resources.

Springville City’s pressurized irrigation will currently only be available for residents living on the west side of the city as shown below in the shaded area.

PI Service Area

The pressurized irrigation system is completely separate from the drinking water system. Pressurized irrigation (secondary water) and culinary water (drinking water) systems cannot be interconnected.

Property owners within the area served by secondary water can connect to the PI system to irrigate their property. Residents that connect to PI before September 30, 2016 will receive a $250 credit and will not have to pay for their meter ($270) or inspection ($50). After September 30, 2016 the credits will no longer be available.

In order to connect to the PI system and receive secondary water, residents will need to purchase specific parts and follow the instructions provided by the City. Or, residents can hire a licensed, qualified contractor to make the connection.

Once you have disconnected your sprinkler system from the culinary water system and connected to secondary water, you will need to fill out the Pressurized Secondary Water Application and Agreement. Once the application/agreement has been filled out and signed, please contact Springville City Public Works to schedule an inspection at (801) 491-2780 or email.
